Blockchain technology is making headlines and for a good reason – it is considered by many as the cornerstone for future computing with the ability to disrupt existing industries and create new markets. There is a lot of content about crypto currencies and smart contract programming, but no concrete business-school like treatment of what it actually means for business.
This workshop’s goal is to give decision makers an actionable understanding of blockchain and its business impact, connecting it to standard business and MBA-type analysis. It gives the participant the tools to evaluate:
• What is blockchain and smart contracts? What do I need to know as a manager or entrepreneur in any domain?
• What business processes it affects and how can it augment them?
• How to analyse if it fits my sector or domain of expertise?
• How to analyse if it fits my current regulatory environment (behind crypto – your domain regulation as well, e.g. the regulator of fishery in Australia) and what are the common problems and solutions?
• How an organisation can prepare itself?
• What are the main areas of current R&D in blockchain and how will they affect business?
